Chapter Guidelines Part 2
Military Birth Resource Network and Postpartum Coalition will provide a supportive network for military families by developing opportunities for service members, veterans and their families to be a part of a network that provides pregnancy, labor and birth, postpartum, lactation, parenting support and legislative advocacy and education in those areas to military leaders and legislators.
Our mission is to support healthy, safe, and satisfying pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences through advocacy and policy that prioritizes equity in access to birth options, lactation education and support, mental health care and culturally competent care for military families across the globe.

1. Number of Hours Required:
Chapter Board Members must attend quarterly board meetings set forth by the Chapter and must commit to a minimum of 1 MBRNPC event per quarter.
2. MBRNPC Events; the amount of hours may be subject to change depending upon the needs of the chapter and volunteer with approval of the Chapter Leader.
3. Attendance:
Chapter Board Members are expected to meet their commitments to their scheduled service hours. Chapter Leaders must be notified of any absences in advance or as soon as possible. After 3 consecutive unexcused absences without notification, MBRNPC reserves the right to terminate the board member.
All board members must sign –in and –out when reporting for service. Failure to do so and illegible handwriting will result in service hours not being recorded. Time can be recorded on a time sheet, online or via email.
4. Non- Disclosure:
It is important for all Board of Directors, Advisory Board members, chapter leaders, volunteers, and members of the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition, MBRNPC, to respect the confidential nature of documents and information learned in the course of their interaction with MBRNPC and other volunteers and service providers. Military Birth Resource Network has sole entitlement and copyrights to any intellectual property that is conceived or developed by volunteers, employees and its agents during the course of service to the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition.
Confidential information includes all proprietary information, such as member lists, and all non-public information belonging to or about MBRNPC. Information should be considered non-public unless it is published in written form outside of MBRNPC committees or governing bodies.
5. Conflict of Interest:
Operate or act in a manner that creates a conflict or appears to create a conflict with the interests of the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition and any organization in which the individual has a personal, business or financial interest. In the event there is a conflict, the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition has a structured conflict of interest process. First, the individual shall disclose such conflict of interest to the President of the organization or the Vice President or the individual’s Military Birth Resource Network Chapter & Postpartum Coalition Leader or the general counsel of the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition, as applicable. Next, a decision will be made about the conflict of interest, and, where required, the individual may be required to recuse or absent himself or herself during deliberations, decisions and/or voting in connection with the matter.
6. Ownership and Return of Material.
Property received during time serving on the board are the property of Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition Chapter and will be returned within a 14 day period after the end of the volunteer service.
This includes all materials but not limited to business information, files, research, records, memoranda, books, lists, computer disks, hardware, software, cell phones and other wireless devices, documents, drawings, models, apparatus, sketches, photographs, designs and any other embodiment of Confidential Information or Intellectual Property.
7. Background
To protect the integrity and future of the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition and to protect the opportunities of MBRNPC. I do hereby give the Military Birth Resource Network permission to inquire into my educational background, driving record, employment, volunteer history, or police record. I further give permission to the holder of any such records to release the same to the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition. I hereby hold the Military Birth Resource & Postpartum Coalition Network harmless of any liability, whether civil or criminal, that may arise as a result of the release of this information about me. I further hold harmless any individual, agency, business, or corporation that provides information or documents to the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition Chapters.
By signing below, you confirm your agreement to the requirements and keeping all confidential information confidential and refrain from disclosing it unless specifically authorized to do so by MBRN. This agreement survives the end of any volunteer or service period for MBRNPC.
