Caring for military families and service members across the globe.

BIRTH & FAMILY SUPPORT ONE DUTY STATION TO THE NEXT

It's difficult to understand exactly what it’s like to be a military family moving from one duty station to another.  People outside of the military community would have to personally experience it to understand it.

The base entities do their best to provide services for our expectant families, however, many families are falling through the gaps and there is a need for continuity of care.  Military life requires frequent moves. Change is constant. Care providers come and go, breastfeeding support falls through the cracks and postpartum concerns can go unnoticed. Crucial aspects of our care system that should be provided for by the military but are often absent because the system is ever-changing.

That's why the Military Birth Resource Network & Postpartum Coalition exists.

Our mission is to support healthy, safe, and satisfying pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences through advocacy and policy that prioritizes equity in access to birth options, doulas, lactation education and support, mental health care and culturally competent care for military families across the globe.

Military Birth Resource Network and Postpartum Coalition will provide a supportive network for military families by developing opportunities for service members, veterans and their families to be a part of a network that provides pregnancy, labor and birth, postpartum, lactation, parenting support and legislative advocacy and education in those areas to military leaders and legislators.
